Maytag Control Panel Swap |

Sooooo... I'm trying to put a center dial control panel on my recently acquired Maytag LA181. I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly however, when I plug the machine in, the breaker pops, even with the machine off. Any ideas? The only thing I can think of that would cause a problem is the fact that the LA181 does not have a suds saver. The control panel I'm using does. I have the wires that go to the suds saver taken off.

Ground wires
There is a ground wire from the power cord to the cabinet, but no wire from the components of the control panel to the cabinet. There was a wire from the panel to the cabinet on the original LA181 control panel, but not this center dial panel.
On a good note, it will fill just fine, but will not agitate or spin. | ||

Nope, did the same thing! I even tried bypassing the lid switch as I plan on doing that anyway. It did something different when I bypassed the lid switch. Instead of popping the circuit once the the timer was pulled out and the lid was closed, it just popped the circuit even with the timer knob pushed in...
