Hi Richard it's a haxis washer and if I remember correctly it was made by Zanussi and had the hoover badge but on it.

Thank god its visually a bit of a disaster.....

cause otherwise it would cause me to be more stressed than i already am (what with the subject of another thread in this forum!).

This machine is the Hoover A1094 Topline and was introduced circa 1980, as the toploader offering as part of the 'Smoother Hoover' series of machines - A3108/10/12/14/66 & 70.

Unusual machine and have never seen one before, apart from in brochures. A rare machine.

Paul

Wish it was nearer me!

Shame if no one saves it, but I guess none of us has infinite storage space! Doesn't look that bad from the piccies but then we can't see most of the cabinet...

Just up the road from me, about 50 miles. I think I would be shot if any more machines find there way into the garage.

EVVIVA!

A carica dall'alto!
That's what I mean when I say "a carica dall'alto" which means top loading!
It's very similar to my latest acquisition, the Castor C488A in the picture below

Hoover : maybe outsourced from Brandt rather than Zanussi

Compare Diomede's Castor (discontinued Zanussi brand) with the Hoover.
Drain pump lids are in opposite sides, also handles of top lids are different

Also compare these 2 AEG toploaders (AEG has never had its own toploader production line)
The Lavamat 565 (left) is a Zanussi make, while the Lavamat 86 is no doubt a Brandt machine, cause the combo (Lavamat 2086) has the same design and the very only manufacturer that has ever made toploading combos is Brandt

[sorry for the low quality shot]

I also think this Hoover was made by Brandt rather than Zanussi. I remember that the italian Sangiorgio (Brandt group) was just like this hoover. And if you look closer, inside the opening (print ad) you can see two colored compartments (blu & jellow) one for the softener and one for the bleach. Brandt machines were made like this. I don't remember any Zanussi washer made this way.
Anyway, nice find!
Ingemar

Intreresting the 565

has got a leftside filter porthole!

Yes, my Castor seems real a Zanussi like it isnt' the Hoover... which is more similar to a Sangiorgio... you're right :)

Update guys is the Oovvaaa has been delivered to the "Spa of Neil" whereupon I was phoned by the paintsprayer manager who uttered a long list of expletives along the lines of "A little paint job!!! you`ve gorra be fexxxxx kiddin me" ....so I took that as he was fine with it!!! lol

From the photos in the brochure, the laminate worktop and metal surround is missing but am sure we can fix that along with the paint jobby

Diomede, yes it does look very similar, especially the top although as you say the pump is opposite sides.

Al, I had a Phillips Whirlpool toploader in 1993, 1100 spin the one with the dark grey flip up control panel, vario time temp & spin, had it in a small hallway cupboard with phillips D153 dryer above it, fab combination!!!

Bertrum, yes pics have been taken, the paintshop manager wants "All" the world to know just what had to be done..!!

Gorenje & Favorit, the label says "Made in France" so I guess that its a Brandt etc...will take some inside pics this weekend and post!!

Hiya Mike.

Cant wait to see pictures of this machies restoration. Really is an intriguing machine, especially when you consider that Hoover only ever did two toploaders, before the 1990s kicked in - model A1004 alonside the matchboxes and A2020/A3006/A3008 and this A1094 alongside the 'Smoothers'.

Be great to find out more about it.
Paul

Mike looks great, wassup with Neil?.....pah a simple gob job and it will look stunning......
have you had it running even with that dodgy looking outlet pipe?
Yah see as it carries the "H" word i personaly would be more tolerant of its shortcomings.........just as is Paul with his 3236H
I doctored the images of it from the listing in photoshop and it was apparent from those it was no virgin........but as i say it carries the "H" word so thats all ok
Well done on getting it

Oooooohhhhhhh!!!!

Yep - she is rough!

But, once Neil has worked his magic with the paint and you wield the bleach I am sure it will shine again.

Have just ticked off model A1094 as being represented in preservation. Another one down!

Cant help with the mystery button, I am afraid. In all my research, this machine is one of the less written about and nowhere have I found which states what this button is/does. If anyone knows....spill the beans.

Have you plugged and played yet, or is it a restore then play situation?

Really pleased that its been saved.

Keep us abreast on how it all goes.
Cheers
Paul

mystery button

for sure it is not "rinse hold" .
Spot the "Q" position on the dial (special treatments - last delicate rinse) : it is in a separate field from "R" (short spin) and "S" (pump out).
This means the machine always makes the rinse hold on delicate cycles.

Maybe it has 3 water levels : low with the 1/2 button, default med with no button, high with mystery button

I confirm it is a Brandt machine : that inspection hatch is more than a signature :)
