My hose hook ups are getting loose and starting to leak. Are these universal? What should I look for in a replacement?

Is that the coupler that fits on the faucet?? I remember there used to be 'rebuild kits' with the correct waskers and seals for these couplers... Maybe they are still out there - the KA collectors here seem to have good parts sources for them.

Yes, it is the coupler that's loose fitting. Sometimes it will start to drip and run down the hoses and on the floor.

any trouble getting any dishwasher faucet coupler and hoses to adapt to your kitchenaid. i have 3 portable kitchenaids at this time, all of mine leak a bit too.

i have seen couplers on parts supply houses like "parts select" but they are expensive, about 75 bucks if i remember right.

i also see portable dishwashers on craigs list all the time, some as cheap as 10 bucks or so. as said any portable dishwasher coupler and hoses can be made to fit your kitchenaid. that might be an idea.

mark michaels, known for his frigidaire parts also had some last year but again it was more than i wanted to pay. he has an e bay store, "mark merchandise" and i can supply his e mail or phone if you like.

personally i would buy an old portable off craigs list cheap and use that coupler!

i personally have never seen a rebuild kit but they could be out there, again maybe call some of the appliance parts stores on the web or maybe even "dave's repair", i have had good luck with him on frigidaire washer parts.

i definately would not let that stop you from enjoying your kd-14 portable. i have 2 kd-12's and a kd-14 myself, and am possibly buying a kd-12 portable top loader if i can get it picked up from new mexico. i just love those old kitchenaids!
nothing else compares in my book!

good luck with it!

Thanks for the advice! These old KA's are the greatest!
