Here's a picture of my kitchen after a "partial" remodel in 1989.
Cabinets were painted and covered with contact paper, counters replaced, and all new appliances EXCEPT for the Kitchenaid dishwasher which just got new almond panels to replace the coppertone ones. The dishwasher was purchased in 1977.
Sad to say, the bottom started rusting out around the heating element and was replaced in 1994 with a Maytag.
In the background, you can see the 1987 GE 23Z refrigerator - still going strong today!

LOTS of storage space and NO icemaker (except for me!)
Note the avocado cabinets and "speckled" vinyl floor.
These were all redone in the remodel in '89.
