The Portable Kenmore Set......

Gosh...... if these were on the East Coast (like in Maryland (either in Prince Georges County or Montgomery County) or in Northern Virginia (either in Arlington, Alexandria or Fairfax Counties)), at that price, I would nab that Washer in a split second. Too bad it's on the West Coast.

That washer would be perfect for my living situation.

One More Question.....

If I were to end up with that Washer somehow, would I be able to put a Dual-Action Agitator inside that machine??? Is there an Dual-Action Agitator that would be small enough to fit inside that machine????

KenmoreGuy64 (a.k.a. -- Gordon), what do you think???

Charles -

There was never a DA engineered for a portable belt-drive. The DA for the direct drive machine may fit as these two platforms seemed dimensionally similar, at least more-so than the BD and DD in full-size garb. BUT, the DDs traditionally have had shorter agitator shafts, so if this is the case too in portables, there is no DA out there. The BD portable machines used the same transmission as the full-size machines, and I believe that DD portables use their full-size transmissions too.

DUAL ACTION AGITATORS

Gordon is right the da agitator from a portable DD won't fit a BD portable because of the length of the agitator shaft I had thought of doing the same thing a long time ago.

But the standard Whirlpool Surgilator fits the portable perfectly and what a ride you'll get. It is the same height, of course, but wider than the portable Surgilator. With a full load, the washer actually shimmies a little on its wheels like a cartoon machine. That's what I have in mine. It will make you smile, from all the fun.

DUAL ACTION AGITATORS....

Okay.....

Thanks guys..... just thought I ask.

Well, if these machines were on the East Coast, and available at that price, I would still nab them anyway. I just probably would've kept things the way they are in this case.

But I did see a Kenmore Portable with a Dual-Action Agitator on this site before (and it was pretty recent too). So then, that was a Direct-Drive Machine.

So then, this a Belt-Drive Machine, right???
