There were two different Imperial models both have the fabrics selector and the higher of the two had the illuminated panel, fabric softener disk, and was among the most popular seller of the two.The less expensive model, like the one for sale here, was also available in poppy red as well as the matching gas or electric Flowing Heat 1-18 dryer.I had them both in Baltimore and in Florida in the poppy red color. They were still working perfectly at both sites when I left.I would take laundry in and get lots of complements and had dirty laundry parties every weekend. You couldn't party unless you brought your dirty clothes to wash.We had a blast and many of the company who participated were students who truly apreciated my utmost generosity and loved hearing the thump of the 1-18s and the 58 Custom Imperial.I had no water or gas bill, just electricity and paid no more than $85/MONTH.Those were the days weren't they?If I lived on the mainland,I would want these for daily use. here, everything is exposed to the rainforest environment and,if not kept in pristeen condition,it will get moss on it and eventualy rust out.I coat all my appliances with Nufinish car polish. It puts a polimer seal on the finish and protects things from the humidity.I faithfully do it every month and it does work. You would not believe how many appliances I see at our dump that, had they not begun to rust,I could have saved them from the crusher.
This past Saturday,I finaly broke down and bought a digital camera so I can take some photos and share them here and everybody can get an idea of what it's like as well as see where I live and how far into the past it is. most of the structures here are Asian or oriental but in good taste and pretty well kept concidering their age.As soon as I figure this bad boy out,I'll share it all with you and take individual shots of all of our rental units,YPO Valley,Hilo,Kona,Volcano, and the many beautiful waterfalls here.
