Lately I seem to be the neighborhoods appliance repair guy ever since I fixed our neighbors GE dishwasher.

Another neighbor stopped by and said his Kenmore DD machine won't drain. It agitates, but doesn't drain and won't spin even when all the water has been drained out of it.

I am thinking that it's a pump that's gone bad. If the drive coupler was bad, it wouldn't agitate, right?

When you go to the drain part in the timer, the machine just sits there silently.

This is Kenmore model 11023912100. The S/N is CL3616726. Does anyone know what year this unit was made. The guy seems to think that it's about 10 years old. But you know how that goes.....

Thanks in advance!

We had this happen on Mums Whirlpool, the lid switch looked like it was in place, but when removed the plastic bracket that the screws go into had broken and the pin on the lid, just pushed the lid switch out of the way.

If the motor is starting during drain/spin there is no reason it wont drain as the pump is mounted directly to the motor. There would have to be a blockage of some sort for the pump not to drain.

Is the motor starting for drain/spin or does nothing happen?
