Hey guys iam looking for a cord for my Maytag model 140 it has to be at least 10ft long because it attaches at he bottom of the machine. Would love 2 find the orgianal cord if i could.
Hope u guys can help me out. As u can see the cord is in very bad shape.

Hi Gary, wow nice Maytag. It looks like a 1957 AMP, the very last AMP design!

That original cord is going to be hard to find, although someone might have one. You should be able to get new, three prong grounded cords at Ace Hardware or Home Depot.

You might be able to use an A/C extension cord and remove the female end, should an appliance cord not be found.

Or maybe go dumpster-diving on appliance disposal day and cut a cord off a newer Maytag!

Gary ... beautiful machine! Do you have an electric motor service place nearby? They might be able to help out. The one we have locally said I could have put a two-prong back on, but I opted for the three-prong for safety reasons and also that you can no longer purchase the special cold water hose that had a grounding wire wound through it.
