A brilliant stroke of programming, gentlemen: Dishwashers as the opening act!

I spent yesterday helping with a city-wide clean-up. Unfortunately, there were no cool vintage washers at the curb in my work zone. I ache in areas I didn't know contained muscles, LOL! Today I'm making a full lasagna dinner for 60, so it's back to the kitchen, for me.

I'm revved up to see more photos of the weekend's proceedings, and will check in throughout the day.

WHAT A FABULOUS TIME!

dishwashercrazy's profile picture

Robert and Fred:

Todd and I had a wonderful time yesterday! Thank you so much for hosting this event and inviting all of us into your home.

We really enjoyed getting to see all of your collection, not only to just be there, but to see almost all machines in action.

I especially enjoyed watching the ABC, Thor, and Apex Washing Machines. Todd was sure mesmerized by the KitchenAid KD-12 with the window. The Youngstown Dishwasher is so fun to watch through its window.

Fred, your Vacuum collection is spectacular. So good to meet and spend time visiting with you.

Your selection of food was very extensive, nicely presented and delicious as well.

Your home is so beautifully decorated: North to South, East to West, Top to Bottom. It was Eye Candy, and quite the Show Place for the Appliance Enthusiast.

And most importantly, I believe, is getting to see old friends and meeting some of those we have not met before.

THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH.

Mike (Dishwashercrazy) and Todd (Varicyclevoice)

We had that Youngstown Dishwasher when I was younger but I don't recall the screws in the holes on the top of the spray arm. I remember the water spaying on the glass. Did you do that to improve water pressure on the rest of the arm or for some other reason?

A very big Thank-YOU hug to both

Robert and Fred for opening up their home to all of us. It was so good to see so many old friends and to meet so many new ones. Of course the washers, dryers, dishwashers, vacuums, and polishers were fantastic but the best part is always the friendships that are made at events like this. Thanks for the memories one and all!!

Gratitude

What can I say about the wash-in that hasn't already been said above? A big THANK YOU to Robert, Fred and his magical playland assistants. A favorite moment was when a few of us decided the Citation Wizard water-hog washer was really an Imperial Russian "communist pig" washer. Gary in turn started to try to sell us on it in a thick Russian accent, creating waves of giggles. There was so much to do, so many kindred spirits to chat with, and unexpected surprises, the time just flew by. And yes, Ms. Jetcone's cake was da bomb!

Gratefully,
Jim S.

Kenmore in spin-drain by moonlight

Jon, did you push the timer to get it to do a spin-drain or merely document the event? It looks cool with the filter stream coming in. My mom's 58 Lady backflushed the filter during drain so water did not continue coming out of the filter during drain and I missed that additional drama when I made it spin-drain. Thanks for the cool picture. It does reflect a bit of post midnight madness in the wee, small hours of the morning.

Hi Tom, actually it was not spin draining... it was agitating. Jon had stopped it during drain out and put into agitate to get that shot.

Turned out pretty good, huh?

Kevin

Kevin, Thanks for clarifying--no, not the butter, Julia-- what's going on. So, ultra-low water level and Super Roto Swirl agitation is why so much of the base of the agitator is visible. It looks like the filter stream is falling onto the skirt. Thanks to both of you for the great picture.

well Tom Kevin is right

jetcone's profile picture
actually I had just gotten my camera and the filter was clogged so I cleaned it but the machine was in drain all of a sudden, so I rotated the dial back to wash and to my surprise it didn't refill by went back to agitate. So I saw that cool filter-fall with the revealed surgilator and just shot away.
