I was feeling kinda low after the Frigidaire pump incident, so I thought I might cheer myself up by playing with the KitchenAid Electra top-loader that I got from Eddie (toploader55) down in Cape Cod a couple of weeks ago.
I did the traditional 'bucket test' - holy moley does that dishwasher sling water around! The sound of water moving around made me think I was near Niagara! No leaks were observed and for the brief cycling I allowed it to complete, it seems the timer works fine! |

Still need to do a little tinkering, though... The detergent cup doesn't want to stay in the 'loaded' position, but it may be because I was monkeying with the timer and advanced it manually a few too many times. Of course, if anyone has some prior experience with a fix like this, please let me know!

love the video! i always wondered what my kd-5 was like on the inside, now i know. it does sound like niagara! and as i have mentioned it is the best cleaning top loader that i have as well as the best cleaning dishwasher out of any i have ever used.
i think i remember stevet saying that the kd-15 series pumps were so powerful that they modified it a bit and toned it down some for the 16 and 17 models? all i know is when i want someting really clean i use the kd-5 top loader! what happened with the frigidaire? did i miss a post here? hope it's nothing major. is that the spin tube? |
