I was feeling kinda low after the Frigidaire pump incident, so I thought I might cheer myself up by playing with the KitchenAid Electra top-loader that I got from Eddie (toploader55) down in Cape Cod a couple of weeks ago.
I did the traditional 'bucket test' - holy moley does that dishwasher sling water around! The sound of water moving around made me think I was near Niagara! No leaks were observed and for the brief cycling I allowed it to complete, it seems the timer works fine!

And if you wondered why I had the plexiglas on the tub, well, here's something I had to video...

Still need to do a little tinkering, though... The detergent cup doesn't want to stay in the 'loaded' position, but it may be because I was monkeying with the timer and advanced it manually a few too many times. Of course, if anyone has some prior experience with a fix like this, please let me know!

I hope this soothed the stings and burns from the wounds of the 58 Frigidaire.

It sure did! Listening to sound of the water trying to jump through the lid of the KA was like listening to the roar of the ocean!! LOL

Awesome!

Great video! What a nice find!
Hurricane in a box was not a Hobart slogan.
This Slogan came way to late, but just in time from Jason. Club member name Jasonl's to be exact.
He coined the phrase that I think was brilliant.
Too late for Hobart!

hi mike!

love the video! i always wondered what my kd-5 was like on the inside, now i know. it does sound like niagara! and as i have mentioned it is the best cleaning top loader that i have as well as the best cleaning dishwasher out of any i have ever used.

i think i remember stevet saying that the kd-15 series pumps were so powerful that they modified it a bit and toned it down some for the 16 and 17 models? all i know is when i want someting really clean i use the kd-5 top loader!

what happened with the frigidaire? did i miss a post here? hope it's nothing major. is that the spin tube?

Wow, that thing really throws water! No wonder they had relatively short cycles. Great video, Paul! Thanks for posting it.
