Wow, that is nice, but wish it wasn't so far away. Bet it would be perfect for the Turquoisedude if he can have it shipped to him. |

Well, let's just say I would have tried a little harder to figure something out. Actually there's no way though. The doorway to the basement is relentless when it comes to this kind of stuff. The Maytag washer won't be a problem. It's these super-wide machines that just won't happen. I love this dryer though and would love to have it. Apparently it dries very hot too and has the cute bell chime at the end of the cycle.

I'm not a Westinghouse guy, BUT that dryer is in such good shape, even I would take it! It would be inexcusable for someone to let this slip away. Ship to Kansas maybe? ~Tim |

trust me. Our house is way too small and it won't go in the basement. There's just no way I can take it so I'm not going to bother. I really want someone on here to get it though. I'm not kidding when I say this dryer is in perfect condition. Even has the operating manual with it. Someone get a shipping company and I'll help any way I can. I just can't save it myself.

R&L YouCrate should be a good choice. Haven't used them personally, but heard good things on here about them. One of my friends works as a driver for R&L. CLICK HERE TO GO TO CircleW's LINK |

I've got a couple of leads now, and will follow up tomorrow. I appreciate all the emails and postings, ya'll are great folks to deal with. Now, say a prayer to the dryer (or shipping) gods, please. LOL |

I have used both R&L/U-Crate and U-Ship. I have had success with U-Ship, but you will need to be patient. I found Jim the hauler there (several people here have used him). The first bids you get there will be ridiculous, so don't get discouraged when that happens - people always start out high to see what you'll put up with. U-Crate on the other hand is fixed price, but it may or may not be reasonable to you. If you know someone who ships on R&L as a shipper, they may be able to get a better discount there for you.

I've emailed a couple of you just now. I know shipping is nearly impossible on such a short notice. I did make a phone call last night to a friend in hopes of having a temporary place to hold the dryer but I got no call back yet. That's why I'm pushing so hard to get someone to take it ASAP. The only other place I could possibly hold it is literally in my living room and I'm trying not to have to have that conversation with Tony.
If anyone that wants it that has a friend nearby with a car, give them a call. I'll keep trying to find a way on my end. Jon |

Just got a call from the owner and they were able to get a taker on the dryer. Where it's going and what will happen to it is unknown to me but that was bound to happen with such short notice I got. I know a few of you on here really wanted it badly and I'm so sorry I couldn't have done more to help you get it. I'm hoping it's going somewhere to be appreciated and, if not, then we did the best we could.

With good results in terms of item arriving, but would STRONGLY recommend something this nice properly crated/packed before shipping.
You can ask for "blanket wrap" and other services all you want with U-Ship, and many shippers do the right thing, but bottom line what they consider proper packing as opposed to your ideas may be different. In particular cords, extras such as manuals and so forth should be secured and properly protected. As for "C&F", they are a franchise outfit, you can go to their corporate website and search via zip code to see if there is a local office. Personally for something this "mint", I'd spend the extra funds and go with C&F, rather than be on tenter hooks about how it may arrive with U-Ship. |
