We've never had any complaints about the washing abilities of ours. I just hope the bearings on our washer last awhile longer! |

i bought the washer with bad tub bearings(it's a 1998)and changed them and the shaft seal and repaired the worn drum shaft(made a thread on the repair a while back)so should be good for a long time now. |

does it take to destroy the spider? Is there any way to know? I have the Kenmore variant of the 2940. It's five years old and for the first four years had fewer than five loads per year with chlorine bleach. This year that number has risen to perhaps two or three bleach usages per month. I'm always careful to NOT wash the last load with bleach, so a subsequent washing will splash away or dilute any bleach still hanging around.
