There is only one wire attached to the sensor. The other strip on the sensor grounds out through the cabinet. When the wet clothes touch both strips of the sensor it grounds out the circuit preventing the timer from advancing. That is why it is so important to make sure the dryer is properly grounded.
If you remove the lint filter housing you might find the washer and clips back there. If in doubt I would order the kit, it will have all the pieces you need, and it comes with directions. |
