John and I went appliance hunting on Sat... This James is really cool - it even has the little glass detergent dispenser bottle.
Anyone know the year? Looks like a late 50's model to me.

This is not one that I will be keeping for my collection
so it's up for sale /trade.
Email me direct to discuss details at bygted@mail.com

Inside

looks pretty nice - no rust issues on the racks.

cute!

Is that a Westy range peeping out from behind that James? Looks to be my range's sister. Can we talk?

To me that James DW looks late 40's or early 50's.

Check this link out. It has a description of a James Dishwasher and how it works. The family in the link had theirs, which looks like yours in 1951.

never realized the James was an impeller-based machie with its wall of water.

Very cool James dishwasher Ted! I'm wondering if this isn't a later one judging by the decal and trim.

I've got a lovely digital GE Potscrubber to trade you. We know how much you love 80's digital garbage! ;-)

This is one of the last James machines, made about 1957. Just beautiful and its rare to find the glass detergent cup in tact.

Great find!!

Just in case anyone is interested in seeing the video of my James in action.

This was one of my first videos, and I apologize for the poor production.

This particular James unit, according to Hans (norgeway), came with a Universal gas range...made in Chicago by the Cribben and Sexton co.
