This question is about our Maytag DW we bought about 18 months ago. It's a model MDB6701AWS.
What happens is that the when you start the machine it does one pre-rinse, drains, fills then opens the detergent cup and then continues washing. Then it drains and refills again. But on this wash is when the "Heating Delay" light comes on, not on the wash with the detergent mixed in. It is also a longer wash cycle and the water is clear. After this cycle it drains and rinses a few more times. I would think that it would do two pre-washes before opening the detergent cup. Of course this is a electronic controlled unit. We have an extended warranty on it, so I'd like to make sure it's working correctly.

Is this how it is suppose to work? It appears that the water used with the detergent is only tap warm, rather than heated.
The dishes are coming out sparkling clean, with no left over detergent residue.
