At the Minneapolis wash-in earlier this summer Gary told me about a friend of his who had an older Kenmore he wanted to get rid of. Having been on the hunt for parts as the 59 was under restoration I was interested. Gary gave me his number, I called him and discovered this was actually an old friend of mine who used to play piano for me when I sang opera at an Italian restaurant in Mpls. We still see each other out and about-small world!
So I have been meaning to pick it up but finally did today. Last weekend when Ben was in town we ran into my friend who had it at the Eagle and Ben asked him if it had a dial, he said nope, just lots of push buttons. Ben and held our breath as we wondered if it was a 59 or 60! Well there is a dial, but the machine is very nice none the less, havn't tested it yet but with a couple of swipes of 409 it came out this clean....

those of you know have seen my stuff know that suds-savers find me. All but 2 or 3 of my machines have them as a feature, and this one does as well!

WOW!!!

What a fantastic find. That is one beautiful machine!

May I ask what some of those switches on the top do? :)

Switches

The buttons set the cycle length, wash and spin action and temp depending on what you are washing.

I swear some people have all the luck! Great score Don, suds-savers are my type of machine as well. This couldn't have gone to a nicer guy. Bev & I hope you and Scott have a festive 4th.

The 900's are somewhat rare because if you were getting that high up in the line you might as well go for the LK. So, what would have LK have on it that this doesn't? Also, model indicates that this is a 66, I would have guessed later. Any ideas?

KENMORE 900

Great find Don it would have been built later than 1966 the serial # will tell the actual date of manufacture. At one time these were popular machines they sold a ton of them around here. They were sold as last years L K M s and usually didn't have things like three speed motors and the triple inlet valve, no thermostatic warm temp and no med temp at all. But overall it is a great fully loaded machine you will love it.
