Hey guys and gals, got a question on my old basic tag, model a-5000 serial 105339. Went to do a quick load of towels and turned on and nothing. I thought well the water is off as the water company being doing some repairs around here. Checked the sink had water, turned the timer to rinse nothing, then to spin and it started filling and spinning. I thought ok just stuck turned to permantpress and nothing but that rinse. filled and agitated. So I know i need a timer. How much do they run and can they still be found, thanks

MT WASHER TIMER PROBLEM

The problem you describe may or may not be a bad timer. It would help us guess better if you posted the full model # and full serial # neither # you posted look like a MT model or serial #.

Those are the only numbers on the metal tag. It filled on rinse but timer didnt move untill I advanced it myself. Found a chinese made timer for $159 that said will fit, Well she will go for the crusher not going to put much money in it.

I'd have to look at my references but is that model equipped with a lid switch assy with fuse? It'd be a black bakealite piece with two switches and a line fuse. If the fuse were blown, the washer would not fill BUT would spin. Look inside the console!
