I did a 'custom rinse' for the towels. I put a load into the washer, filled the tub and let iet agitate for a few minutes. I then partially drained the machine while running fresh water into the tub. I added fabric softener at that point, then let the machine run a few more minutes. I then wrung the towels. It seemed to work fine!

And finally, to the 'solar dryer'! LOL
I didn't dry them all the way on the line, though. While the towels were still damp, I threw them into the Inglis dryer for about 15 minutes to fluff them up and dry them thoroughly. It worked well! The downside is that this whole operation took me over 2 hours... Can't wait to get the Inglis automatic back up and running... Or until I get the GE Combo drying too... Stay tuned... |

The slow gentle arc, the delicious slurp of the water and the lazy synchronized dance of the towels has me mesmerized. Oh Oh, what were we talking about? |

Is the agitator cap original? Looks like WP/KM.
- I thought it was a replacement, too, but I found another washer just like this with the black cap! I spy a hoover (maybe a spirit or futura). :) - Good eye! It's a Spirit that I just found at a garage sale 2 weeks ago - works like a charm still! got rid of one a couple of years back, and i wish i hadnt. - Um, it was in YOUR basement for nearly a year - Hubby would have glady let you keep it you know... LOL |

Can you please show us some pictures of the dials on this machine. I mean we all like to see the wash action, but most of us like the bells and whistles as well on all appliances :) John |

What a treat this was for me, Paul, closet wringer washer lover that I am. And washing outside is a blast, very dear to me too.
Wondering if it heats, since I see two controls, besides the wash handle, unless it's a timer. The speed & stroke are identical to the early Speed Queen wringer. Some nice summer, before we get too old, we could swap machines, my chrome for your chrome for a season or two. I don't think you guys are that far away. Leaks: the Maytag here leaks from the wringer, while the Norge, the Speed Queen, and the Visimatic do not..... SO FAR!!!.....knocking on my wooden head ;'D |
