I'm getting enough static from my partner about the Thundering (of the) Thermador already. He'd probably have another stroke if I brought a second one home! I really don't think it's all that loud. It's MUCH quieter than the plastic tub Maytag Jet-Clean it replaced.
That machine up for grabs would be a fun one to have, and if there's anyone local to it who is looking for a change of pace in their daily dishwashing drudgery, this is the ideal machine! They're interesting, fun, and have a very high end look to them. They have their loading quirks and limitations, but the top rack in particular is the most versatile you'll find on just about any machine out there. They dry like nobody's business, even without forced air. I rarely, rarely need to wipe off anything I remove from the top rack. In that regard it beats the pants off of any other dishwasher I've ever owned or used. The steam option is fun too. It'll raise the water temp as high as 174 degrees. The machine in the ad is probably a THD 4600 as John said -- top of the line with no manual timer knob. Very sleek. It's worth every bit of $35 unless the electronics of the control panel are fried. Parts aren't easy to come by for these machines in general, and particularly for the 4600's panel components. These don't show up very often. If anyone is mulling it over, just stop and go get it! Parts value alone would add up to way over $35. |
