I've had some requests for various shots of my Speed Queen. The first is of the motor, transmission, and belt in use. So, here you go, enjoy!

The second is of the various cycles. Here is the Perm Press and Hand Wash Cycles, but you can see others by click on the videos drop down near my user name at the top of the page (when viewing the actual YouTube page). I hope you enjoy them.

Clutching

Amazing that the clutch action during spin is accomplished purely by the belt slipping on the motor pulley.

I like the slow, steady pace of the clothes' rollover. I've never understood this mania for clothes somersaulting at top speed. And the tub fills nearly to the top on the Extra Large water level setting. Awesome!

With the new regulations, it did not fill to the top from the factory, but I "fixed" it. :D

How did you bypass the lid switch?

Excellent vidoes, thanks DanMan. Can you make somes vidoes also using the SMALL and MINI water level settings?

Here you go. This is on the "Mini" selection (after I increased the water level). It comes to just above the bottom fins. This video is on gentle agitation, but I may make one on regular agitation--fun, splash city! I'm washing two bath towels in this one. I usually change to gentle agitation when using small loads to not wear the fabric badly. Speed Queen recommends doing this as well as using extra amounts of water in order to make certain of gentle care.

If I were to buy a brand new washer, this would be the only brand I would get.

So, how does Speed Queen get away with selling a quality washer like this that contains a lot of metal and uses a ton of water? Isn't there some sort of government regulation the prevents a sturdy built water hogging washer like this from being built and sold? And if SQ can get away with building something like this, why isn't any other manufactures jumping on the bandwagon?

The SQ T/L meets energy/water regulations until 2015. As for the rest of your questions, I think it has to do with getting the government grants for R & D but I am not totally sure.

GREAT VIDOES!!!!

This Speed Queen washer reminds me of how Maytag use to be. Long strokes, built like a tank washer. Makes me want to run out and buy one.

One super splashy load of whites in hot water, Clorox and Cheer! The rinse cycle has some really interesting closeups. Washing in Clorox made my whole house smell like my childhood again. Brought back a flood of memories - I always liked it when mom would wash small loads for all the cool splashing noises the washer would make - it could have been any given Saturday in late 1970s. :) I hope you enjoy!

AWESOME!

Thanks again DanMan, I ejoyed that...you really see the full action of the agitation in the close-ups and top view...the best. The low water level 'splash' also bring back childhood washday memories for me.

Glad you liked them! Yeah, serious rollover for sure! That's why I usually wash small loads on gentle...one powerful agitator!
