"could you pull out the dishwasher and run it?"

sure.

Dishwasher into middle of room, hook hose and pw cord up.
Get cascade soap from under sink.
Squeeze bottle into 2 soap dishes.

very liquid, not viscous. Shake bottle, same thing.

With it this thin it just runs out of the soap tray when door is closed. Result, all the soap used up during the 1 minute 1st quick wash. no soap in dish to support the actual wash cycle.
HUH?

Why did the mfg change the liquid soap/s? Anyone know?

What do you use in these older machines now that the liquid soap is too thin to be retained in the dishsoap cups? any suggestions?

Use a powdered detergent instead of a gel or liquid.
