For my Speed Queen AWN311 which is bottom of the line and single speed we paid $ 549 USD and that was including tax and delivery charge of $20 USD. So $496 was the base price. Not bad. I think that for $1040 CAD is a bit steep. I wonder what the exchange rate is right now CAD to USD. I know at one time it was $1 usd to $1 cad.
Anyways Alliance has to have some sort of network in Canada I would think. Huebch and SQ are the same machine just different name. Here is a pic of my machine |

Thanks Mike. That model retails at $812.00 at my local (and only) retailer. So the price discrepency between the US and CA seems to be constent. |

What did you do?... Picked it up directly at the plant? :-) This new model has a fabric selector... Does it mean you can do the regular cycle at low speed and the other way around? |

I bought my mother the top of the line Speed Queen washer I found that the price varied quite a bit one dealer in Tipton County wanted 700.00 but I got hers at Hamilton Maytag in Memphis for 529.00 did it over the phone and with the help of the Speed Queen website.Hamilton Maytag was very nice to deal with sent it right out they ordered it from a supplier because they cannot have 2 many Speed Queens on the floor because they would lose their Maytag contract.Which I would say good ridence they could become a Speed Queen dealer.

Here's a chart that I made that helps understand the Fabric switch. The Fabric switch will also work on PP cycle. If you select "Regular" and use PP, the first spin is normal speed, 2nd spin slow. The fabric switch isn't explained very well in SQ manual, I got it out of the service manual and made my own chart to reduce confusion.

Seems they do advertise...in Oz from what some members have posted. I agree, they should. I really like the mom 'n pop dealer experience for me. But most people out there use Lowes and HD for the credit promotions (as I recently experienced with my sister). She WANTED a SQ, but it wasn't an option since Lowes/HD didn't carry them. :(
