Does anybody here know what this is? I was under the impression that it was a D-6, but when I saw it in person, I found out that was definitely not the case. Any ideas?

Thanks, Tony

Might this be the elusive Westinghouse combo?

It's just the Clothes Dryer (look closely below the Westinghouse logo). This is a 1956 year model, and along with the matching Laundromat, were awarded as prizes on the original version of BEAT THE CLOCK.

dryer

I am pretty sure it's a 56 model.
Here is mine... it's a really great looking machine.
What's the deal on your machine - is it a keeper for you or are looking to sell/trade ?

I think Robert has the matching washer.

No, it's actually from the estate of a friend of mine's father. It has been in the basement since it was replaced in 1985 with a Kenmore dryer. I am planning on acquiring it sometime in the future, but as for right now, it will remain in the basement where it's been for the last 50 years.

the model is...

...a D-9! Does it have an " M " after the 9 ?

Hmm, I'm not sure. I didn't take the panel off and look. It's actually in another state right now, so I can't run and check. What does the M after the model number signify?

You would be right on the money - 1956.....

Guys,

This is the set of my dreams! My grandmother (mothers side) had a 1956 Deluxe set - Laundromat and Dryer - exactly like this and if I ever find a set or just the Laundromat (washer) it would be the icing on the cake for me! If anyone knows where a 1956 Laundromat (washer) is a avaiable please let me know. If dryer is with it fine if not fine.

Thanks much! That is a beaut Westy dryer!!
