Westy Dryer

It is a D5, or o D6- The D5 just had a medallion & a control dial- the D6 had Dials on each side & I cannot tell by this photo- The D6M had a tourquoise booklet, & did not have the music box, just a little clapper that rang a bell when the motor slowed to a stop-

Robert, which westy dryers of this "look" hd the temp knob on one side (high/air/low) and a pushbutton next to timer dial for "auto dry). Haven't seen one since 1968 in Dallas.

I think the one you are thinking about is a D8- it had a pust to start button next to the dial, & stayed in till the timer shut off & it popped out-It had the clear plastic dial skirts, & like you said, one has Reg-Lowheat-no heat- I forget which side the start button is on- mine is in the garage under some stuff-The D8M did not have that.

Music Box

Hi Kevin,

You asked: "Ok, ok, music box????
Do tell....."

Some Westy dryers had a music box that played "How dry I am" at the end of the cycle. How cool is that? :)

Mike
