I've had this GE tol pair a long time, I needed a dryer for a rental until I got the Kenmore dryer fixed that was hit by lightnig. Had to take the washer with the dryer, came from origional owner, came with installation sheet & owner's manuals. Washer is model WA-1250B, dryer is DE-1220B, what year were they made? They are turquoise, washer tub is turq too, mini-basket, filter flo & softener dispenser is more of a greenish color. Both are stuffed away & hard to take pictures of.

Early 1960s?

Is it a solid tub or a perforated tub? Is the filter flo flume at 12:00 or 2:00?

Sounds neat,
Dave

I would LOVE to date your Filter-Flo's

Do they look like these? If so your machines are from 1966 and I consider you a lucky person. The first time I saw one of these machines was in the church rectory basement of my school. It was washing the nun's naughties. If you ever want to have them live with someone who will really appreciate them and not keep them locked up in a storage place, please let me know.

I have a copy of the 1965 catalog and the laundry introduction is titled "In 1965 Select The New Quality Automatics V-14" and the models are WA-1250A.

I would assume from that that the WA-1250B is the next year, 1966.

As usual, more than you wanted to know:

This gorgeous machine had 3 iterations. The first was a Y-model 1964 V-12 machine with 5 programmed cycles and the bleach dispenser door mounted on the front of the cabinet.

By 1965, the GE masterminds decided that this really was a 14 lb. capacity machine, and updated the mini-basket, added two more selections to the programmed cycles and made the selector buttons with a snazzy chrome finish:

Then, as far as I can tell, in 1966 the machine was modified only in that the bleach dispenser left the front of the cabinet and was mounted, forevermore, on the left side of the opening under the lid. I think it was after this year that the GE engineers figured out that it would be better if the illumination on the lighted panel would shine down on the controls rather than right in the users' eyes.

GE TOL WASHER& DRYER

Thanks for all the information I guess may pair is the 1966 model as it doesn't have the front mounted bleach dispenser. Did all three years of this machine have the four speed clutch as mine does? I am going to try to hook up a couple of the GEs for the October gathering.

My GE

Thanks everyone mine is the 1966 pictured. I often thought the bleach dispenser on the front was earlier. To answer a question, it's a perforated tub & flume is 2 o'clock. Actully the light doesn't shine in your eyes unless you can just see over the top. GE borrowed the Norge time line cycle indicator. When you push a cycle button, a lighted jewel glows where to as to wash time. Will do some moving & take some pictures. The dryer is in a corner between two Flairs.
