I'm posting some of my lost videos from my old camera and my phone to YouTube finally. I have some Hotpoint vids, Hoover vids and Maytag A50 vids. It took me a while to figure out how to upload them from my phone, but I FINALLY figured it out. It was convoluted. Thanks Robert for the nudge to get these up to YouTube, I didn't have enough time to show you while I was visiting, too much HE washing to be done :)
If anyone wants to see a particular item of these machines let me know, I have the power of portable video! -Tim |

This was a video that I made when we 1st moved into our new house. This video features the machine while it was in the original Hotpoint "Rim-Flo" setup. It has since been converted to a GE Filter-Flo setup and is happily washing away. This another narrated video, I blame Mickey for the narration as he mentioned that he enjoyed it. I enjoy talking about washers as anyone whose met me will tell you. I really need to release that more to people aren't to overwhelmed by my shear volume of "talk". Shut up Tim.... :)

Tim----we've posted before on thread 30101 "Speaking of twin tubs" I'm the guy who just got the Craigslist 0519 in Pennsylvania, and it runs great and is lots of fun. A question or two for you: Mine isn't "DeLuxe," but has your exact same layout and auto-rinse and control panel entirely and Serva-Top. Do you have any idea what the difference is? Also, for softener, I get a 2 gallon bucket and dissolve the fabric softener in it, then after about 2 or 3 rinses, once waste water is clear and I turn from Auto rinse to regular spin and turn off the water, I open the lid, pour about 1/2 the bucket in sort of slow, then remove the rubber mat and move around the clothes just a bit, bringing bottom ones up to top of spincan. Then I pour in the other half of the bucket, replace the rubber mat, close the lid and spin out. Pretty easy and quick, no problem of too much softener or spots and slops. Anyways, thanks for your videos, my machine has worked well since day one (except for some hose clamps for the home-made water hose).
Post more please, answer back here or on thread 30101 if you find the time. One of these days I'm gonna paint it, but other than that my machine is great and I appreciate your videos and advice on how to get the most out of it. Also, major favor to ask, but I'd happily pay copy fees/paper fees/mailing if you ever feel like copying the owner's manual, it would be great to have. I bet you're busy with other stuff, but thought I'd ask. Don't know where I'd ever find it. Thanks again--Oh----what does the sticker on the spout say? Mine is missing or isn't DELUXE enough?????? They're just quick videos with my camera/phone. To me soap is a generic term used for cleaners also. I have not watched any of your videos yet. I realize that like 1/3 of the members here probably have this washer in some form also so it's really sort of a mute point I guess, although not a lot of the Hotpoint brands on YouTube.
My Camera/Phone/Camcorder is one device, pardon my terminology on that one. It's also not a great device as I may have stated, but is versatile. Sorry you did not enjoy the videos very much though. -Tim |

Your video of the hotpoint is fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing it. It's silly but sometimes I wish I had a hotpoint filter-ring washer next to the filter flo just for funzies. Between my two grandmothers, one had the FF and the other the FR just like yours. Never a dull moment I assure you. Much like you though I always wondered how the clothes managed to get pretty well rinsed during the spin spray despite the water being caught by the filter ring.
Great machine though and a really nice job on the restoration of it! Jon |

Reading Jon and listening to you about the spray rinse in the Hotpoint, I was wondering if some of the water makes its way through the clothes. I think Robert once told us that quite a bit of water makes it onto the load during the screen flush in the 49 GE.
Thought I was an under-loader, WOW, you win that prize. Certainly would have made one load of the shirts and pants, but that's probably why your clothes come out so nice. My mother swears by under-loading. If you're taking votes, I vote for the Hoover flick, especially the way you show how to spin rinse like our Brit buddies do. I've been doing it wrongggue all these years with ever more powerful blasts and ever less convincing rinsing. Altogether, it was like sitting in the kitchen with you for a friendly wash-in. Thanks for having me. |
