Has anyone ever seen any of these around or own one?

I realize they are nothing more than re-badged Whirlpool/Inglis products made in Canada, (mid sixties?)

Interesting. The RCA Victor branding was used on TVs, but I'd not before seen it on a dryer (or washer).

I never quite understood the 'RCA Victor' re-badge. Inglis basically bought the rights to Whirlpool's designs and in the 50s and 60s produced appliances under the Inglis brand. I think the RCA Victor name appeared in the early 60s, but I can't be sure... It may have been some sort of a trademark thing - because of the Whirlpool agreement with Inglis, maybe it wasn't deemed appropriate to use the 'RCA Whirlpool' name on appliances. Pretty good guess, eh?? LOL

Why is the G backwards on the heat selector dial?

Weird. What did the Victor Talking Machine Company ever have to do with washing machines, spring loaded or otherwise?

rp2813, Corporations and money. IIRC GE bought out part or all of RCA in the late 90's. The washers and dryers were labeled RCA less the "Victor". There was a period of time then, if not now that all the televisions labeled RCA were really GE. I wish we were all "big enough" to change names get tax cuts and other incentives. alr2903

RCA bought the Victor Talking Machine Compasny in 1929

and then became known as RCA Victor. RCA dropped the Victor part of the name in 1969. GE bopught RCA in 1986-87 to get its hands on NBC. Less than a year after purchasing RCA GE sold it off (less NBC) The RCA appliances I remember date from the early to mid 1990's. I would love to see any brochures anyone might have for Canadian RCA Victor appliances...that would be very cool. PAT COFFEY
