You guys may have remembered about a month back of a (C1) error code I got on my Calypso washer.....

I had the extended warranty on this machine.....repairman said it was my boards gone bad, and ordered NEW, but never came to replace them

Called Service....again......response: cost too much to fix for its age (4 years old)......

Gave me a complete refund for the total price I paid for the machine plus tax.....

Good News or What?..........They should ALL be like this

Lowes....the warranty is nice, one price covered both washer and dryer, plus what any other appliance you got on the same receipt...price is same if you only got one apliance....not sure if it is still that way or not

it Cost $139.97 for 4 years after the manufacturers ran out

Congrats Martin!

That is a great warranty. Mine is from Sears had more than paid for itself on my POS dishwasher. My fingers are crossed for Geek Squad extended warranty. Lowe's, I will look into it when my dishwasher is out of warranty, and looking for another one.

Oh, I got my first Neptunes from BestBuy.....3000 series....and their warranty stated after 3 service calls, I would get a new machine, 5 service calls later....I had that Washer jammed in the middle of their entrance....told them to call the cops, I was not moving without a new machine, and taking it home NOW!!!

In less than 15 minutes I was driving home with a brand new one.....

I did go without a machine for 3 months, called and complained, got me no where, called the store, made sure it was in stock....loaded the truck and went there.....they wanted to do exchange paperwork first, told them I waited 3 months and to shove it up their ASS!....you can mail it to me!!!....and they did!....

you just have to know how to talk to these people!!!

So what are you doing with the Calypso now? Are you still trying to fix it?

Actually once I unplugged it for a while and plugged it back in, it works fine.....the repairman never even came to look at it, he called asked me what was it doing, and said he would order me new boards and come to replace them.....

So far it works fine, I may get the code again, but who knows, only time will tell, I have been using it the whole time while they decide what the were doing, so I'm gonna run it till it dies, my luck it will never get a code again, and probably last many years.....I just did not expect them to give me a refund, I thought they would just fix it and once the warranty ran out, I am on my own.......go figure

Many credit cards offer protection similar to or even better than the extended warranties sold via stores. Best of all it is free.

Mastercard, Visa, and Amex all have something along these lines.
