I've rescued a GE mini-basket from my parents basement. It came with my Mom's 1967 GE washer which was replaced in the early 80's by another GE. I did clean it up some but it still has some pieces of oilcloth stuck to the top and bottom edges. I'm asking $5.00obo+shipping. If anyone is interested please contact me at the email address in my profile. Serious inquiries only, 1st come, 1st served.
This mini basket is exactly like the one pictured in thread #30466, post #461184. It also has the rubber feet that rest on the agitator. It has what I believe to be a part no. on the bottom. It is #581D725. This post was last edited 09/07/2010 at 16:19 |

Thanks so much to Polkanut (Tim) for this fantastic find! I promptly received this lovely V-14 ramp mini-basket this morning and it is perfect! I have a '68 GE set and a couple of years back found a bakelite ramp activator for it on Ebay. MikeyD was so kind to send me the V-16 mini-basket which I love to use now and then but it sure would have been nice to complete the set with the ramp mini basket as well.
It arrived safely and it looks great! Since I have a video of the V-16 basket at work I will be sure to video this minibasket as well. Tim, thanks again. You're too generous and I couldn't be happier about this. You should get the check any day now I promise. I'm so sorry it took me a while to get it sent out. Yogitunes, if you are reading this I didn't forget about you either. I have the other minibasket I promised you and I packed it in the box I just received and plan on sending it to you tomorrow. I'll let you know what the shipping is but the basket is free of course. Thanks so much again and enjoy the snapshots! Jon |

Notice this one has smooth sides rather than the extra vanes on the wall of the basket that the V-14 style has. I suppose with one of two items it wouldn't matter too much. I think, again, the idea with V-16 was taking away some of the extras to provide more capacity. This mini-basket appears to have a little more room inside. Either way it's still a small mini-basket. :-)
Tim, thanks again! |

This mini-basket came with my Mom's 1967 V-14 GE washer. It saw little, if any use when Mom had this washer. The '67 was replaced in the early 80's by another Filter-Flo. This basket has been sitting on a piece of oilcloth for the last 40 years or so. The pieces stuck on the basket are from the oilcloth. I didn't try to remove them for fear of doing damage to it.
Jon, I hope you get many years of use from it, and I'm glad that it's being loved rather than neglected in a dark basement. |
