Stoves-n-Fridges

Wow, if the turquoise range was gas...that would be for me. Also dig the turquoise fridge! All nice stuff but, here in St. Louis, a vintage fridge or stove is sort of a dime a dozen. There is at least one in every basement in the city! You just about can't give them away. My sister just texted me about an hour ago asking if I'd be interested in a Mustard yellow vintage stove that an acquaintance of hers needs to be rid of. If it wasn't for the Mustard yellow I would just say "no" outright. But hmmmmm, Mustard yellow...that is intriguing, no? I'll be going to take a look soon. She mentioned a matching fridge.

That NOS wringer washer is a great find. I don't get into them but if I did, I'd pee my pants trying to get that.

LUCKY! Sounds like heaven, lol.

Us idiotic west coasters are too quick to dump the old stuff for the so-called "new and improved" designs. Sigh....

It seams like St Louis is a GOOD place for vintage appliance hunters-no basements in my area-land of rust here-old appliances go to the dump or allowed to corrode away in the BARN when someone gets a new one-they are as rare as hens teeth here.To top it off-the swap shops purged a large number of their older machines-they would say"you should have asked about older washers a few months ago-we just sent a bunch of them to the dump-no one wanted them""you are the only one here that has asked about real old washers."I ask them to put me an a call list if any more come in and call me-I also call them-so far no luck.Just enjoy what I have. One other problem-one of the better swap shops closed and their building was torn down.and they were just down the road from my house.

Dan's the Man

Dan is spot on when he speaks of the progressive attitude of West Coasters. Out with the old and in the with the new. If you do find something vintage get ready to empty your pockets because they're scarce and pricey. The midwest has always held more treasure the coastal states.
