Wanted to share my new video blog I've been working on this weekend. I know a lot of you have seen the post with photos of my Miele, but I wanted a better way to share my videos I've made of it in action.

mieletouchtronic.blogspot.com...

Let me know if you have any suggestions :)

Regards,
Andrew

Video Requests

If anyone has any video requests of specific items or loads of wash to do in the Miele, send me an email. I plan to be making more videos soon, but have been pretty busy lately working on the basement.

Interior Lighting

I would like to know more about the light that you use inside the machine when making videos and where it is placed in the machine.

Lighting

I either use a LED flashlight aimed at the door during filming, or I've got a set of LED lights that I ordered online somewhere last year. Basically it's a set of waterproof LED lights connected to a plug in transformer. I just take a couple of the LED lights and string them inside the top of the door and close it so they shine in on the load while it's being washed.

I'm trying to find the link of where I bought them, and will post once I do.

Great work!

Good luck with the project - blogging takes a lot of work, but it can be very rewarding! :)

wow very nice proves one theory you get what you pay for! i found the videos to be relaxing....hmmmm i would only buy this washer if i was opting for a frontloader period!

João-

I will a large load of white towels for you soon on 70C, and thanks for the request. I've also added a way to request videos with a Widget I am trying out. The site is still coming together and the last time I created a website was in 2000ish with Front Page. It's a work in progress :-)

Randy-

This is definately one scenario where you do get what you pay for. In the long run, I should end up ahead of the game vs keeping the LG's I thought were about as good as you could get. The most expensive LG I purchased was just under $1000 for the washer, the Miele was $2000, but should last me until I'm approaching 50. Maybe just a bearing change by then too!

Great blog! It puts everything in one place. I like your washer. If I had to get another Miele this is the one I would choose.

Those are crystal clear videos...what camera are you using?

Camera & Video Editing Software

danmantn,

The camera I use is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20, capable of HD video clip recording up to 30 continuous minutes. (You have to start a new recording each 30 minutes). I edit my videos using Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0 ($100). It was quite intimidating to use at first but it just took some practice and it's easy to use now.

Prior to this camera, I had a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 that died on me, out of warranty. So I replaced it with this DSC-H20 for $250 and it has been a great camera for the price.

Please see link attached for the camera specifications.

Regards,
Andrew
