Hello Applianceville ----

There comes a point when we start to look around at what we have and realize that we must make that cold, difficult decision to either let the hobby take over, or muscle up and take over the hobby.

I have a few machines up for sale right now. If you have any interest, please email me at benny59@mchsi.com.

Right now the final date that these must be picked up is no later than October 30th, 2010 in Waterloo, IA. If there is no interest on a particular item from the group I'll post it on CL next Sunday.

I can help load them into your vehicle of choice, or help a shipper if needed. All machines are considered to be sold as is, so please ask questions and I'd be happy to supply further photos if necessary.

First up.....

The white 806 set. A very tough choice as this washer was the very first vintage automatic I brought home.

Washer is a RARE 1966 machine. Dryer is from '69.

Asking price for the set: $100

Pearly white buttons and timer dial - this washer was not exposed to smoke or florescent bulbs!

The chrome does have some bubbling, but everything works great, plus it has the elusive Mallory timer, in which this washer has the easiest, most satisfying spin of the dial that you'll ever have the pleasure of using.

This washer is a suds saver, plus it also has the early Wash n Wear button, which preceded the Permanent Press button. Also it has the 3 level wash switch, and the early wash temperature buttons labeled simply as Cold, Warm, Hot.

Washer would be a 7 out of 10 in my book.

Unfortunately the original Power Fin had a busted fin when I got the machine. Earlier this summer I tried to remove it to no avail. I eventually had to bust it apart. I do have a replacement 67 and later Power Fin for this washer.

Notice it has the early large capacity tub....

Still has the original sud saving hoses - a plus for a full days worth of wash!

Model tag.

LOL, this is embarrasing. The whole time I've had this machine I thought the code was BB. Instead, it is BW - October of '66.

Up next - the matching dryer. This came later, but still compliments the washer quite nicely. I'd say the dryer is an 8 out of 10.

Chrome bezel is MINT - no pitting what so ever. There is a very small scuff in the top porcelain panel. Hardly noticeable.

Late HOH Maytag dryer, model DE406 Series 01. Originally bought for the minty top to replace on the DE806 dryer. Instead, I'd rather see this machine go complete.

One of the nicest Maytags I've ever seen.

CHEEP - $15

Model tag: January '76. This would be one of the LAST Halo-of-Heat dryers made.

Runs fine, however the belts do have a flat spot so there is a slight rumble. Sound should clear up with some fresh belts.

Next up - Non Maytag item, lol. This is the remains of the BOL Wards washer, with an early 70's Norge control panel. I call it the Warge, and it even takes commands!

I'm currently using this washer and it runs GREAT. Originally was a very low use machine. I'll include the original control panel and some various parts that I've collected from other Wards/Norge machines. I plan to shoot a video and post it on YouTube hopefully in the next week or so.

Price: $50

Money shot.

I believe I have a spare burp-o-lator agitator with filter from one of the parts machines that I'll throw in too. I prefer this very cool black angel wing agitator instead.

Next up - the Maytag coin-op machine that I found earlier this spring.

It is FREE - meaning, please come take this from my basement!

Last item - non washer, but very cool vintage.

I'll provide more details to anyone who is interested. A 1955 Combination Freezer/Refrigerator from Frigidaire. Originally was yellow, painted avocado sometime in the 70's. Runs and is almost complete. I've got some spare parts (thermostat, relay, etc.) if it goes for the asking price.

Price: $100 OBO

That's it! Remember, shoot me an email at benny59@mchsi.com if you have questions or are interested. Thanks!

Ben

Nice machines, Ben. I know what ya mean about space, I have things stored in about 4 places now.

What does the Frigidaire need?

Hey guys -

Thanks for the comments. The Warge is spoken for, and I'm waiting to hear back on the 806 set. The coin-op and the DE406 dyer are still up for adoption, and the fridge is still here.

Kenny - if you really want the Frigidaire, drop me a line and we'll work something out. I'd say it needs cleaning and a paint job, but it depends on your tastes :D

Ben
