Yeah, too expensive. I have a HoH electric dryer, a 606, for free, if you'd like. Its turquoise. I paid $100 for my A806 daily driver, and nothing for my second A806, and those were TOL.

Out of curiousity, the owner was wondering what would be a fair price to ask......I know their not 806's, which would be nice.....but just to give him and idea

Thanks

Yogi

I personally wouldn't pay over a $100 for the set. It really depends what models they're and their condition (not just their outward appearance). They look like one of the very last production 06 models. The washer could be a 606/608. Can't tell what the dryer is though, besides being an HOH.

One thing I would strongly advise to anyone purchasing a pre 89 helical Maytag washer is to remove the trans belt and rotate the main pulley counter-clockwise (agitation). If it rotates smooth and freely (should require practically no effort), the trans is probably good. If the pulley is stiff or requires muscle to rotate, the upper trans bushings are shot and a donor trans will be needed. Sadly, Maytag never made the upper bushings available to the public but I'm currently working on that problem and may be able to have a small production run of these upper bushings in the future :)
