Wow, I just watched a 60 Minutes show regarding Newton, IA. I then logged onto the internet and searched...One Minute Washers. I am surprised to find a site where people are wondering what was or happened to the company. I am the great niece of the founder of the company. My father who was born near Newton took me frequently to visit and we had a vacation home in Kellogg for a time. My dad as a boy (20's) even mowed Fred Maytags yard in Newton. My great uncle Charlie was a friend of Maytags. In fact as the family story goes....Maytag needed money early in the century and my uncle wouldn't loan him $10,000 for a share of the company. He believed in One Minute...which was his company. Guess we know how that one turned out.

Welcome to Automaticwasher.org. A little while ago, there was a thread on this subject, I've included the link on the bottom of my post. Please do tell about the company.

Welcome,
Dave

Welcome!

That was a nice piece on Newton. Sad, but I don't think they have a lock on despair. CBS did a piece on Wilmington, Ohio a while back, they were in just as bad, if not worse shape than Newton.
