I'm still kinda skeptical, but I'll let you be the judge.

almost 100% I do believe. This is no different than any previous Whirlpool or Kenmore (whirlpool produced) HE front loaderr with heater and stain treat option or heavy duty cycle. Starts with warm water and gradually heats the water to hot and does an outstanding job from my own experience. There may be some steam phase thrown in here too, but not sure. Yes, what I"m skeptical about is that Maytag wants you to believe they came up with this but nope, it's the american euivalent of a european profile wash.

I've heard good feed back on this washer from a couple of people I know.

Looks like Lowes has nothing to do and did this?

Although it's not mentioned, I wonder what brand of detergent they used for this "experiment"?

They said TIDE was used and no bleach.

I'm sure the results are true 100% but that is how not to use a washing machine! Ten t-shirts? Gosh, my machine, that is one third as big than that can hold many more! And uses less water too, 14 gallons (54 litres) it's a big waste for only 10 t-shirts!
Let's see if it can perform the same with a full load!

Not Impressed

Any washer would get those stains out if the stains were NOT allowed to dry and set.

Case in point...if you stain say a shirt while you're at home eating, if you don't allow it to dry and set (take off said shirt and rinse it under warm or hot water and briskly rub together with soap or detergent) the stain will easily come out. And no need to wait hours.

I agree 100%. I'm assuming they started the cycle within 5 - 10 minutes of applying all the "dirt". They should have allowed the stains to dry and set for 24 hours FIRST and THEN ran the cycle!

The fact that they didn't let the stains dry and set is what makes this demo so unimpressive. My HE3t with stain treat, as described by Bob above, does a great job. The stain treat option is probably similar to the power wash cycle. The advantage of having a stain treat option over just one power wash cycle is that it can be used on different cycles - like normal, whitest whites/heavy duty, and sanitary - to achieve different maximum hot temperatures - at least on my model. You Guys Made Me Do It! :)

OK, so here's the comment I left on Peat14's channel in connection with the Maytag 4000 washer:

Re-do the test on the Maytag 4000, but this time, allow for the stains to DRY (at least a day or so) on the shirts. And for more "fun", wash them in a FULL LOAD of whites! The results should tell us just how good this washer really is!

I wonder if this "challenge" will be accepted?

stains to DRY in a FULL LOAD

That's how one needs to talk! :)

And also dry the shirts at the end too. Sometimes a left over stain circle won't be visible until the shirt is dried.

MT STAIN TEST

combo52's profile picture
MT did this same stunt when they introduced the Neptune FL washers. Tom and I were there at the local Holiday Inn for this big sales-dinner meeting. They had all these little bottles of colored liquid that they wanted us to stain the new white tee shirts with. At the time I was wondering why they weren't using any common things that might cause stains, such as ketchup, mustard, grape juice, blood etc etc. Me being the trouble maker I am went over to the tables and borrowed a few pats of butter and smeared it all over a tee shirt. Some one had the same idea and put chocolate syrup and ice cream on another shirt. Then both were put into the pile of dirty shirts. They then ran one of the orignal Neptunes through the complete while the sales meeting progressed. We were sitting near the rear of the room and I watched as the sales lady unloaded the washer, she was looking at each tee shirt as she pulled them out of the washer. She came to the one with the chocolate on it first and then my butter stained shirt and hid them back in the machine. I made a point of taking the stained shirts out when we all got up at the end of the meeting. At the same meeting I was sitting with a group of people when the MT rep was talking about the wonderful new MT ranges, he was talking about the excellent quality control that was being used at the range plant. As I was sitting there listing to this I noticed that none of the four burners a MT electric range were even remotely level. When I put my hand up and asked who was responsible for seeing that the burners were level the MT rep was not happy as everyone in the group could see what crap this MT [ Magic Chef ] range was and laughed. As I think back I think this about the point when I lost respect for most MT appliances, this was the time they were coming out with al the Norge, Magic Chef, Adrimal, Hardwick and JennAir junk relabeled as MTs at prices far above what this junk had ever sold for before. As we all know all too well now this is what did in MT you had a lot of conservative antiunion executives running the company giving large amounts of money to right wing republicans rather than trying to invest money in making a good product

Bill I didn't see your comment on the video...

revvinkevin's profile picture

I posted this comment on this video 4 days ago when I first saw it:

"I agree, the should have allowed the stains to dry and set for at least 24 hours first BEFORE washing.... I'm sure ANY washer would have gotten them clean as they did this test!"

.... and someone flagged it as "SPAM". That sucks, I guess "they" didn't like that I questioned their little video.

An Error..

Kevin:

I didn't want to take the chance of having my comment deleted or put in the spam category like yours did, so I posted it on peat14's channel page in the channel comments area.
