For it not to work properly,

I have heard just way too many horror stories about them.

Majority of them have had the Contrawhatever disabled due to them being poorly designed.

Quite an unrelaible machine, have got friends whom have had them and due to the poor reliability got rid of them and reverted back to a good old basic machine.

RichardB has one although his was also disabled. He will be able to inform you more about what it actually does and does not do.

They were not all they were cracked up to be to say it lightly.

Yeh, Rob got it right. Quite high performing machines, but very unreliable and many had the 2 drum thing (which lets face it, was the machines main feature) disabled. I'd stick with that old Hoover if I were you

Hiya

I've had a dyson washing machine for a very long time, I think i've spoken toy ou Richard on msn, a while back. Anyways, i've had one repair which was the planet assembly, something to do with the drums, and yes mine has had the 2 drum action disabled so it's just a standard washer now but with a huge 78litre drum (same size as LG's 11kg washing machine). It's excellent at washing and rinsing and without contraroration it's very very quiet now, the contraroration wasn't bad tbh. I don't know what to say, as I know some people had really bad luck with them as (aquarius1984) (is it Rob?) stated. Mines been okay except from that one problem. However next I am planning on getting a zanussi jetsystem TOL in graphite or an LG steam which will be a maybe :S

You currently have a hoover electron 1100, which i'd definitely have over a dyson :) But the dyson is a good daily driver for a busy family that has louds of clothes like us.

Hope it helps, any questions - feel free to ask

Take Care
