When I'm using my SQ wringer washer, the agitator works fine and spins freely by hand after I drain the tub. When the washer goes unused for a couple of days, the agitator will barely turn by hand at all. It has seized up. If I can get the agitator to turn, it squeaks. Lehman's recommended that I remove and grease the post assembly and check the bearings. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Is it difficult? Thanks very much for your help!!

P.S. The pic shown is of my SQ. It's a GREAT washer! It has the drain pump and the stainless steel tub.

Hey----I haven't YET needed any repairs to my wonderful SQ Wringer machine except for new hoses, so I'm watching this thread for advice down the road----

 I figured out how to do it on my own and it was very easy. I just unscrewed the 6 bolts at the bottom of the tub, lifted out the post assembly, and greased the bearing with white lithium greast. Works like a charm now. I can even spin the agitator. There is a gasket with 6 holes plus a hole for the drain underneath the post assembly. It was in fair shape, but I ordered a new one from Lehman's for $2.95 plus shipping.

HI Steve, Great to hear the your SQ is working ok now. I have one from the 80's with a stainless steel tub and pump, and one that maybe somewhat newer with a porcleain tub and pump. I really like my SQ wringers. All is well there. Happy washing. Gary

 Your SQ wringer from the 80's must be exactly like mine. I have the stainless tub and pump as well. The bearing on my post assembly squeaks just a little bit, but the washer is still perfectly functional. I'm asking for a new assembly for a birthday present. They run about $60 from Lehman's. I'd love to see a pic of yours if you have one.
