"I wonder how he knows they are "ready" for restoration ?"

Maybe because it is a case of restoring or disposing.

Unfortunately for the stove, it looks to be of the period when Hotpoint tried hiding the bake element under the oven liner. It was not a good idea then nor was it any better when manufacturers started doing it again more recently.

Yeah, I saw this ad too. I thought the price was kind of high for something that's "ready for restoration."

Also saw an ad on local CL for an older KDC-XX (or maybe KDI) for $100 which also seemed high to me so didn't post it here.

Actually

Considering that you get all the kitchen cabinets, booth, stove and dishwasher, the $1000 he is asking isn't a bad price. Never know, they may sell just the dishwasher. If I were wanting to remodel my kitchen, I would be after this in a heartbeat.

The cabinets are worth a grand to the right person. I've seen sets sell for much higher. Be cool to see shots of the dishwasher.

No doubt!

I'd pay a grand for those cabinets alone. Too bad they're half a continent away. Sigh.

Are those Formica counter tops?

I do believe

they are red "cracked ice" formica. They appear to match my chrome kitchen table and chairs. (another sigh)

I've reconsidered. For the entire kitchen including appliances, the price is reasonable. It appears to have been well maintained.

It's a shame that people who don't appreciate kitchens like this end up buying the homes that contain them. For many on this site, the kitchen would have sealed the deal on buying the place.
