Hey guys -

In continuing my quest to restore space in the basement, as well as my sanity, I've decided that it is time to part ways with a few more machines from the collection.

Similar as before, everything is available for pick-up in Waterloo, IA. While I will not be able to provide you with a shipping company, I would be happy to help the shipper when they do pick up an item, or help you out if you were to come to Waterloo.

I'll be available for pick-up thru 12/27, but will be away on vacation starting the 28th, through January 2nd.

Knowing these are old appliances, they are being sold as is. I'll do my best to describe the items. If you have questions or would like more photos, please shoot me an email or send me a message through the AW messaging system.

Now to the washers.

First up - a Frigidaire 1-18 washer, model WIA. Machine runs fantastic. Cabinet is from a 1975 WIA, guts are from a later 1978 WC-6. Cabinet is in good shape with a few scrapes, porcelain top is nice. Window is not foggy, and all the controls + timer work fine. Mechanism works flawlessly and the tub is in fantastic shape. The Jet Cone does have a few chips but they are smooth. A link to a YouTube video of this machine washing is below.

If you don't have a GM Frigidaire yet, don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to grab one!

Price: $100 obo

Second - a 1955 KD-11P KitchenAid dishwasher. Came from a suburb near the Twin Cities. Was installed in a basement and rarely used. Tub and racks are like new. The door seal is very soft. Has a rare copper finish. Door handle, start switch, and timer dial are in very nice shape. It did not come with the original kick plate. Does come with the original owner's manual.

I have not hooked this dishwasher up, and I don't have time (nor space) to give it the proper home it needs.

Price: $100

Interior shot of the KitchenAid. I'll throw in a set of stainless steel panels from a KD-12 that are in good shape.

Third - the 1955 Blackstone, model 350. This is a gem of washer, but again I don't have the time to finish the restoration. This was one of the last complete Blackstone washers that Fred had.

Cosmetically, the machine is in really good shape. The timer cycles just fine, and the tub will lift and drop as needed. It will need some work done to the clutch as it does not spin to full speed, and it also will need a new agitator spider. The lights for the dials are also not hooked up (mechanism came from a 250).

Price: $100

I feel ya Ben!

I need to downsize my vacuum collection to about 25-30 machines! It kind of exploded and things are bursting out of closets!

I need to sort out things I dont necessarily have any attachment to, and bring in stuff that I really want, like early hoovers and kirbys.

Hey that reminds me, would you still happen to have those old hoovers? Just wondering.

P denotes it's a Pump Drain Right ?

I'm going on vacation at the same time. You wouldn't be happening to going on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera would you ??? Eddie

I tried to pack the Unimatic, but it put my bag overweight. LOL

@ Brandon - yep, I still have the Hoovers. I'll make sure to bring them with during my next trip to Omaha.

@ Eddie - no, I prefer my winter vacations to stay as cold as possible during the New Years. I'll be sticking it out in the Midwest. About the KitchenAid - yes, the P stands for Pump model. The tank is the nicest 11-14 series tank I've seen. Hopefully it goes to a good home.

I'm so tempted, Ben, to go after the 1-18 because I know it will be in perfect shape and each water jet will be open and clear for the famous full minute Niagara Falls rinse blast, and this machine is a movie star. Great video.

Sounds good Ben! Also was there some kirby boxes or something? I cant remember who had some kirby boxes.

Much appreciated
Brandon

Hey Ben,

It's Todd from Bettendorf/Davenport. If nobody else has spoken for the KitchenAid, I would definitely be interested in the machine and will give you a fair offer. Please let me know via my email.

Thanks Ben!

I see the lid of the KitchenAid is taped shut. Is that so the spray-arm doesn't make it hop and rattle?

I'm going to have to have an appliance-sale sometime soon as well, there is never enough room and certainly time to get it all done.

Greg, maybe we should all have a massive garage sale. ;)

Ill have my vacuums in one corner, your washing machines lined up in another, and Ben can bring along his.

Haha.

Sounds like the garage sale of our dreams.

The 1-18 Frigidaire and KitchenAid have been claimed - the Blackstone is still available.

Ben

(Mike, I clearly see I'm way too tired to be at work today!)

And Thanks. I almost made it through a Christmas not wanting a washer. Just the other day, I was so free but surprised : this is the first year in five that you did not buy yourself a washer for Christmas. How and why is this happening, I thought. And then you post and re-screen the prize winning 1-18 that stole my heart so many months, ago:
the 6 "Fabric Channels," the glass lid, the huge capacity, on and on,--never even thinking you'd ever part with it, much less imagine it would one day be mine.

I feel like the little kid who finally get a longed for puppy. Now I have a place to wash Monster Northeast Winter Loads, and diapers when I get old (er);-D

Thank you, Ben. What a perfect Christmas present.
