Hello,

I came across this get forum about dishwashers. I have a KDC-17A Kitchen Aid Hobert Dishwasher.

I love the thing and I am NOT getting rid of it. I do need a soap dish dispenser , mine has a small hole in it.

Does anyone know where I can get parts for the dishwasher.
I have tried Ebay and came up with nothing.

Thanks
Chris

BEHIND DOOR NUMBER ONE...

Chris, how many doors does your dispenser have? And can you post a picture of it? If my feeble memory tells me the truth, I should have at least one brand new in the bag single door unit as well as many used but operating double door units.Let me know or let all of us know and I am sure we can help you out.
Steve

KDC-17A

Would have one door, but you can use the two door dispenser the left door just won't close as there is no bimetal actuator to operate the left door.

Hi There

If.... You want to up grade, I still have a KDC 18. This has the same single cycle but upgrades you to the wash arm under the upper rack. I'm leaving on vacation but will be back around the 3rd of Jan. I have also 2 soap dispensers if need be.
Here is the pic of the machine. I have interior shots at home but not in my LT.

I'm on Cape Cod so we're not that far from each other. Eddie

I highly recommend taking Eddie up on his offer. The overwhelming consensus among members on this site is that the 18 series is the best ever produced by Hobart.

It should be a cinch to change out the two machines, and you will have the luxury of loading things into the 18 any way you please, since it has a separate wash arm for the upper rack. The only limitation I can think of would be the need to keep the upper wash arm unobstructed by taking care not to place super tall items in the lower rack, since I doubt the Custom models offered the china guard.

too. i just bought a detergent dispensor for the 17 series about a month ago for about 20 bucks. he also had the earlier dispensors for the 15's at that time listed. who knows, maybe he'll post more. i always check e bay at least once a week for kitchenaid parts.

good luck and yes it is a great machine! i have a kdc-17 in my collection, gave it a new motor 2 years ago and it runs like new!

China Guard

The KDC does have a China Guard. Thanks Ralph.

Swapping them out would be a breeze Chris. Then you could take your time with the dispenser and have a back up machine like most of us. ( Ya, a back up , more like 4 or 5 ) LOL
