date codes

when i do not know the serial number code to date an appliance
i look for date codes on parts of the machine;motor, capacitors,
electric valves, timers, even belts.Cast parts or molded plastic
parts often have a date "roundrel"-year in the center and 12
month spaces around the center.Capacitors, transistors,ICs and
other electronic parts especially often have a 52 week date
code;example-7501 1st week of 1975,7552 52nd week.

well here are some numbers

well i looked on the inside of the filter door and found 3 numbers and i thought these 3 are the only ones that i thought can only be the number to answer the question:

76/889
113405332
YC1182

does that help?

Post images!

Just posting a color image of a machine will often id the time within a decade; or within 5 years of closer since others may own the same machine.

A Bendix washer can be from World War II if in the USA. A Hotpoint can be varied decades too.

Few folks know the serial number keys; thus a serial number question is a needle in the haystack.

Well

A 9534 will have been made in 1988 or 1989.

And the Bendix you have debuted in 1982 and were replaced around 1986 (I think!) so it will be somewhere between these years.

Someone who knows the date codes will be able to help you with the exact year/month (even week on some I think!)

Matt
