I still have my coppertone porta-washer and love it. I was able to find a new drain hose for it. Lots of fun!! :-) |

Wondering though how difficult is it to find parts for Maytag "Porta Washers". The second unit looks vvvvvvvvvvvery interesting, but after my experience with a MIB Hoover TT arriving with problems, now know just because an appliance looks and or was used lightly does not mean it does not have problems. At least Hoover parts are somewhat easy to come by, if only from parts of the former British Empire! *LOL* Haven't seen spare parts at all for Maytag TTs. Launderess |

What a nice belated birthday present, Austin. Was considering taking a stab at this unit, but have my hands full with my Hoover TT at the moment. Sides as you have lots of spare parts already for Maytag TTs, it seems only right you should have this item. Sides you really have had a string of bad luck with trying to find a unit in decent condition for long term use, and they do say "three times is the charm". Of course you will be posting pictures of your new baby upon arrival, yes? Launderess |

Really didn't want the item, and my heart was not in the bidding. Your Maytag was about what I paid for my Hoover TT,so that seems about right for "newish" twin tubs. My soft spot is more for Hoover TTs as they are/were designed for spin rinsing, and have a higher spin rpm speed. Don't get me wrong, both machines have their virtues. But having experienced the work involved with twin tub washing, would rather speed things along by using spin rinses, with maybe one tub of water used for final rinsing of everything washed that day. Hoover's really fling soap/detergent/water and soil out of the fabric and right down the drain. Even items spun on 1200 in my front loader, give up more water with a brief spin in the Hoover. How cool is that? No, my "care package" from down under hasn't arrived yet, but maybe the postman did come today and we were not home. Hopefully it will arrive by this weekend and I will have some free time and would be perfect to work on the twinnie. Glad you "took one for the team" and best of luck with your new toy. Am truly hoping you can finally put together the washer of your dreams. Goodness knows between this washer and all the extra parts, you should be able to! *LOL* Launderess |

Doubt it. If the seller truly knew what he had, would have skipped the "farm" bit and called the washer "Vintage Maytag PortaWasher. RARE *LOOK*) or some such nonesense. Prolly would have added a hefty reserve as well. Lord knows everyone else selling "vintage" items seems to be doing that these days. Launderess |
