$500 seems steep, but they do look quite nice.

If only that laundromat had a window. :)

If the Maytag wringer was their daily driver, they had the correct dryer. Westy's dried @ hot-as-hell speed. alr2903

Only the washer is called a "Laundromat", the dryer is not.

120 volt only variants too.

There are some Westinghouse dryer variants from the 1940's that are for 120 volts only too.

Ie it is NOT a 240/120 volt unit that can be run at 5400 watts on 240 and 1350 on 120 volts by the way the unit's cord is wired to its input lugs.

The Westy dryer my folks had when was real young was "just" a 120 volt dryer, ie about 1300 watts like a hair dryer of today. This dryer did not have the way to use it on 240 volts. This is what my folks bought in the 1940's when their apartment setup had only 120 volts.

The odd thing is any repair guy about always went into know it all mode when one mentioned the old westy was 120 volts only. Then they arrive at the old house and pop the hood and found it was not a model with the two hot lugs and 240 volt coil run one 120 volts. Ours could be converted via a coil restring and a new lug block 240 volt kit.

When I mention to folks that our old 1940's westinghouse dryer was 120 volts only, most all folks go into know it all mode and say all were 240 volts too. As time marches on there are more experts and past odd variants seem to drop out of the data base.

the model is...

...a DS7- probably in production 1953, and what I always considered an Economy Model to the LB6-M washers of that same time frame-it can be used with either 115 volts or 220 volts-Like I have said before, I would LOVE to find the matching washer, it is VERY RARE!!!
