If it's anything like Paul's (turquoisedude) I wonder why they didn't mention the stove ???

Hmmm... No mention of the washer dryer unit either. Their description of 'putty' sounds like a shade of beige that I have seen these units in. I may just email them to see if there was a washer, too. You never know!!

Too bad they didn't include pics. What what I remember seeing in old magazines, these units came in different lengths and configurations. Not everyone would have had a need or desire for the washer-dryer unit, and some buyers may have preferred a wall oven.

To me, "Putty" sounds like an Almond shade. The only beige I've ever seen them in is Woodtone Brown.

This could be just a collection of GE kitchen cabinets. They did market their own cabinets during the late 40's and the 50's. The ad mentions small wall cabinets with sliding doors; those were called "cabinettes" and mounted just below the traditional wall cabinets. All components were steel, of course.

My grandmother (dad's mom) moved into a nice high-rise apartment in Houston in around 1962 or 1963. It had a GE kitchen in it with what I believe would be woodtone, it was a funky kinda pinkish brown shade. It had a GE range, fridge, and bow-tie impeller bow-tie dishwasher (which by the way didn't work right on the rinses after the wash--timer messsed up and wouldn't drain after one of those fills and refill, so she didn't use it). anyway, all the cabinets in the kitchen were metal and the same shade of the appliances. For the late 1950s or early 1960s, I imagine this was quite an upscale place. The laundry room had a speedQueen washer & dryer in it and I remember the hot wash also gave you a hot rinse.
