I don't know where the Classic 400 ranks in the ISE line-up, but the bottom line is that it's a KA machine and worth getting if you're not looking for TOL. I didn't pay more than $25 for either of the two I recently picked up, so I would try to get the price down, and the machine needs to be in usable shape.

ISE machines weren't exactly made by KitchenAid, but were made by the company that manufactured dishwashers for KitchenAid, Emerson Electric. They are post-Hobart machines.
Nearly all parts excepting for cosmetic control panel components are interchangeable with KitchenAid machines from the same period. Part of the agreement allowing Emerson to produce its own ISE brand was that their machines had to look different from their KA counterparts. That prompted a $250K project to develop a different latching mechanism for ISE machines, which can be seen on the ISE threads I've posted here over the past few weeks. |
