Found a +/- 1990 Indesit Limpiatre Inox - always liked the square porthole.

This is the first Indesit that I've seen with the Detergent dispenser controlled by a cam follower on the timer - obviously Merloni influence.

Inox

Inox (I) = Inoxydable, ie Stainless Steel outer drum. I watched that video (Indesit MODA 446 inox (1990)& was amazed how much water spun out, although not as impressive as the L8's spin drain. I have not yet tested the Limpiatre as I took the door apart to replace the door lock spring. I then put the door parts in the dishwasher for a good cleaning. The outer panel reminded me of a Porta Potti seat!

Indesit Inox

This Indesit, if it was made around 1987 to 1993, I'm wondering if they got their inspiration from the Hoover Electrons, Logics & EcoLogics, I lean toward this, due to the door panel, as they are, or were, very common on Hoover machines in the late 80's to early 90's.

Hoover Squares

electron1100's profile picture

Hoover had square doors going back to the 1960s and then on into the 1970s/80s/90s, the only change came at the end of the 1970s when Hoover made the doors flush with the cabinet rather than proud

The keymatic below is from 1967 it was such a visual feature that it made spotting Hoover machines from a distance very easy
