This thread is about vintage washers, dryers, dishwashers, and combo machines that you think look good or AWESOME in a photo. The photo can have the machine with it's mate, or a person, but more importantly the photo has to capture the machines "best looks". The photos can be of either your own machines or machines from other AW members. If the machine belongs to another member, please state who it belongs to, it's always good to know who has what. Also if you post photos of machines that are yours, please tell the story behind how you found them, or how THEY found you. So, come on everyone, it's story time!!! lol

I will go first....These belong to member lovepuppy. I found these somewhere in the achives. I want to say that this Whirlpool BD set is TOL, maybe LDA models, 1975? I'm sure someone knows better than I do. They look like they just came out of the showroom, as if posing to be in a Better Holmes magazine issue.

If those are 1975 models, they are the ones that temporarily de-throned Maytag as the #1 machine per Consumer Reports.

I believe these are from 1976-77 if they were LDA models. The dryer has the plastic handle which for Whirlpool came out in the later 70s. Whirlpools had the metal lid and door handles for a good five years beyond Kenmores for some reason.

Have a good one,
James

Like I said: There HAD to have been "a period of Lull" for Kenmore... And this era had to be it!

People around this time were sold on LOOKS, and performance!

Machines like the Elegant Whirlpool Imperial & The Space-Age Frigidaire 1-18 really Delivered!

This just jumped into my memory:

As I recall, lovepuppy named the dryer and washer Harold and Madge respectively. It fits.
