A fraternity brother of minie in college lived at home. His parents had the Imperial SWP90. This was the machine I was referring to in the GE thread last night about whirlpool having a top loading dishwassher where the control panel looked like one of their washing machines. I loved going to parties at their house because I could drool over the copper whirlpool washer & dryer in the very huge old kitchen as well as the matching color dishwasher and other appliances. they had like 6 or 8 kids. |

One of the best things about your threads, David, is that you have sparked so many memories. Now I remember that Whirlpool top-loader with the backsplasher. It looks like a little washing machine. After reading so many raves in Consumer Reports and looking at these marvelous machines I want to find one, very badly. In one report, CU judged that some of the Whirlpools cleaned their loads without detergent, better than a lot of machines did with detergent! I've also heard that they were champs at drying.
