What's the difference in a Maytag washer timer 2-4499-1 and a 2-4499-3? All the information printed on top of the timer was exactly the same except for that digit. Thanks.

They would likely be interchangeable, they may be made by different companies. Do they look any different?

2-4499 Kingston - w/ Permanent Press.

2-4499-1 - Mallory - Prior to blue band escapement w/ Permanent Press.

2-4499-2 - Kingston - w/ Permanent Press.

2-4499-3 - Mallory - w/ Permanent Press.

Any of these timers can be used on any 806 w/ Permanent Press (without suds saver) but they all use different timer motors that are not interchangeable with each other.

Miele Washer

Hi Guys.

I would like some advice. My friend has a Miele washer that is about 10 years old. It is kept in a garage and with the cold weather we have had the cold water valve had split. He replaced the cold water valve and now the machine is dead. There is no power to the machine.

When he replaced the cold water valve the machine did work, then would not power up. Has anyone any idea what could be wrong.

Also, if he has to buy a new machine, what make should he go for. He has been looking at Siemans and John Lewis, however, after reading some reviews on John Lewis some people have had trouble with them. Any ideas guys.

Cheers

Paul
