i recently pulled a bendix washer from a basement.the man said he got it when he came home from wwII.he thinks in 1947.model G46 serial 5023 S 392.i also got a whirlpool washer and dryer set supreme 80,coppertone brown he bought in 1972.how does the spin basket come out of the bendix.any tricks before i start.can fill valve be rebuilt?

You should download the service manual for that machine which is located in the Service Manual Library. That should help quite a bit, the water valves can be rebuilt, but the large rubber seat's are hard to find.
